Last fall, I was diagnosed with melanoma, one of the deadliest forms of cancer. Two surgeries later, I’ll be the first to admit: cancer was one of the scariest, most painful experiences in my life.
It was also one of the most profound.
Most folks, especially my physicians, will contend that traditional medicine was what cured me. I’ll agree with them — with one caveat. Because even though my surgeries worked — and for this I am utterly grateful — something else was at work as well. (more…)

What is really happening during an energy healing? Why do some seem to have magical experiences and total recoveries while others don’t? Do you have to believe in order to have a successful energy healing?
As a healer, I have to detach from the outcome of a healing and release any preconceived ideas I may have towards my client’s recovery. I have seen believers not be healed and skeptics receive miracles. (more…)

My recent newsletter article called “Welcome to 2012 and Beyond†has received enough email returning a similar question that I felt I must take the time to answer it for all to read and remember these are my views; accept what you like and leave the rest behind. =)
The most concern seems to be my belief that our physical world is N-O-T going to end by some disastrous event and it appears this has brought relief to many however it has also brought confusion as well in the form of …
“What do we do now? If it isn’t going to actually E-N-D what is the point of doing all this work on ourselves?†(more…)

Over the holidays, one of my maternal aunts visited and we had a conversation about how the ‘older generation’ visited doctors much less frequently than this generation. Sometimes, I find myself going to doctors 3 and 4 times a week.
My grandfather (Louis) lived to be 104 and both my maternal aunts are now 90 and 98 years old. As we discussed Gramps’ longevity, and why this generation goes to the doctor so often, my aunt offered the following about changing lifestyles. (more…)

Many of us experience that prickle feeling with the body hair standing on end and the skin looking like “goose bumps†time and again. It is usually associated or identified with chills, shiver and certain emotional states. Less known, however, is that this prickle is informative and effective in the fields of health care and spirituality. This is suggested by both medical studies and the experience of spiritual masters of different cultures. (more…)
Breathing is one of life’s most basic necessities. Adults take in an average of almost 25,000 breaths each day, and that’s just at rest. While it’s true that most of us don’t stop to think about the breathing we do each day, it’s important to recognize the health benefits of doing so. Take in a breath right now. It comes so naturally, doesn’t it? You may not realize that you can greatly improve the way you feel inside and out, just by consciously controlling how you breathe, for even as little as an hour each day.
When you breathe in the air around you, your lungs transfer the oxygen into your blood. This oxygen is necessary for life’s building block, our cells, to live and create within us. When you breathe out, carbon dioxide and other metabolic wastes are removed from the blood and back out into the air. For those with impaired respiratory function, such as cardiac patients or asthma sufferers, the result of improper breathing is a catastrophic build-up of toxins and extremely low levels of oxygen in the blood. The good news is that even those of us with impaired respiration can benefit from intentionally controlling our breathing. (more…)

The mind does not make an appearance within physical reality, but the brain is based in physical reality. Our dreams occupy the same space as the mind…..that is, no space at all.
The images that appear in dreams appear as “forms†in other realities and they are not restricted by our physical reality rules of time, space and growth. They involve the materialization of spontaneous constructions which would normally not occur in our physical world. (more…)

Govinda said: “But what you call thing, is it something real, something intrinsic? Is it not only the illusion of Maya, only image and appearance? Your stone, your tree, are they real?”
“This does not trouble me much,” said Siddhartha. “If they are illusion, then I also am illusion and so they are always of the same nature as myself.”
Herman Hesse, Siddhartha
The body is a machine, right?  Richard Dawkins tells us we are nothing but survival machines, robot vehicles blindly programmed to reproduce our genes. He must be right.
Modern science says the physical world can ultimately be reduced to tiny particles, which must mean our bodies as well. Who are we to question science? (more…)
