MediumshipThere is nothing special about mediumship. It is just the ability to place each foot in different rooms. Everyone is a natural medium. Because everyone is spirit incarnate. Children and animals are excellent mediums, because they have not yet been taught to close the door on their mediumship. We are all spirit. We are all born of spirit. Spirit given body temporarily. But life teaches us to distance ourselves from our origins and essence. We are bombarded with input from our earthly circumstance. Spirit is reduced to the Hollywood movie or King novel. Entertaining, but utterly ridiculous. Don't believe in ghosts. Don't believe in the supernatural. Don't be superstitious. They're weird. Don't be a weirdo. Bury yourself in the meaningless and the mundane. So we are all mediums? Indeed. But we're not all brilliant mediums. We all have our own unique aptitudes. Not everyone can be a great footballer, artist, linguist, etc etc etc. But if we practice our skills we can all improve and achieve a basic level of competence. We are not all destined for "greatness" but interest and effort in any field will yield results. Mediumship is no exception (except that it should be easier to pick up than artificial skills, because we are all spirit). Make an effort. Make progress. So how does one develop mediumship? The biggest obstacle to spirit is the demands of the material world. Make time, just 10-15 minutes a day is enough, for quiet reflection. Sit undisturbed and just reflect. If you wish, repeat a mantra, a meaningful word or phrase, to yourself. Concentrate upon your breathing. Sometimes your mind will be drawn back to its material concerns. Do not let it. Gently bring it back to quiet neutrality. Not easy and harder some days than others, but persevere. It is worth it. And make time near the sleeping hour. Just a few minutes to allow spirit to draw near. If you wish just think about a loved one in spirit. Think happy thoughts not sad ones. Happiness is what attracts them. Perhaps in time you will sense / see / feel (/ hear) the reality of their presence and continued existence. Healing. We are all healers. Whether through a generous thought for those in need, or prayer, or a smile and sincere greeting. Or more formally through a church. We all have the gift to act as healing channels between spirit and those in need. If you are minded, attend a church or gathering. Be receptive, but not gullible. Accept what feels right, reject what doesn't. Be guided by instinct and intuition. The inner voice, the gut feeling is usually right. If/when the time feels right allow yourself to be used as a healer in a more formal sense. Join a circle. Again be guided by the inner voice, the gut feeling. Be prepared to shop around. Accept nothing that does not feel completely right for you. Follow these simple steps and in time you will come to know the reality of spirit. You may not change overnight, but in time you will come to realise there is reason and purpose behind everything, even though we may not realise it at the time. Be true to yourself and your inner feelings. Blessed be The words herein came to me from I know not where, but a source to which I shall refer as spirit.
