Harmony

By Dr. Stewart Bitkoff

Turtle was sitting by the Pond and watching the movement of the water against the breeze.

“Yes, the Pond is a beautiful place and in harmony. We are the ones who refuse and fail to see this unity. When a dragonfly is consumed by the perch; other dragonflies see this event as horrible and unnatural. His relatives say, ‘this fly had so much to live for and he was just beginning to make real strides in the world of flies. Wasn’t it horrible how he died?’

Aah, the correct attitude for the other flies would be one of acceptance, tempered by the desire not to be consumed the perch. Of course, the fly’s relatives must grieve, yet, grief and anger must eventually give way to acceptance. Over time, acceptance must be replaced by love. For love, slowly, leads to unity. And the Pond is always in harmony. We are the ones who break the chain by our actions and not realizing it.” (more…)

Peace and love cannot be defined

By Lt Col R K Langar

Both peace and love cannot be defined. Both peace and love have to be experienced from inside. Man is essentially Atma or soul and not the body even though body is so important for our self evolution and should be looked after and not neglected. The Atma inside has inherent qualities of peace and love as Atma is Sat, Chit, Ananda or truth, knowledge and Bliss. Peace and Love are man’s own creations and we donot have to look for them in the outside world. We shall study peace and love in subsequent paragraphs. (more…)

A Handbook On How To Defeat The 1%

By Gabriel of Urantia

The Last Chapter

There is a rift now within the general nationwide Occupy movement between the Declaration (99D) project (who want to set up a New Continental Congress with a new Constitution, mostly organized by a man called Michael Pollok, a New York criminal attorney) and the rest of the Occupy movement, who has a General Assembly meeting in Philadelphia on July 4, 2012, comprised of its many contingencies and organizers from all over the country. It looks as though the 99D group still thinks that change can happen within the existing system, and the Occupy movement organizers believe that real change can only happen outside the current system. An excerpt from The End Of History

The End of History

In the following section, I will debunk the debunker. The writings of Richard de Mille have been purported to prove that Castaneda's books are works of fiction. I will show de Mille's claims to be gross over-simplifications and exaggerations by examining his two books-Castaneda's Journey and The Don Juan Papers-and his appearance in the movie Carlos Castaneda: Enigma of a Sorcerer. I will not attempt to address every accusation and insinuation from all this material. That would require a separate book of its own and would be a waste of both mine and the reader's time. I will, however, address the major allegations. (more…)

Sufism for Western Seekers Secures Fourth Place, Receives Honorable Mention

Sufism for Western SeekersStroudsburg, PA – June 24, 2012, Dr. Stewart Bitkoff’s book Sufism for Western Seekers, which was nominated by ForeWord Magazine’s 2011 Adult Non Fiction Religious Book of the Year, was just awarded fourth place receiving honorable mention in the overall competition. Bitkoff has proven his ability to offer Americans an ancient teaching which has otherwise been viewed as seemingly complicated and places this book on the shelf of  “must reads” alongside new age, self-help literature such as Dr. Wayne Dyer.

Sufism for Western Seekers depicts a first-hand account of spiritual growth in two modern Sufi mystical schools. Sufism is the ancient path of spiritual knowing and is available through all religions, independent of Islam and other orders, yet is often misunderstood by Americans and Western Seekers. It is the true path to "knowing” oneself and coming to understand the light. It is not meant to replace religion rather it’s an added essence the ‘holly on the tree.’ (more…)

Man is what his mind is

By: Lt Col R K Langar

Introduction

Man is what his mind is. Man is what he thinks. As the mind so is man. If mind is disturbed, man is disturbed. Thoughts which are continuously produced by our mind are  our constant companions and we have no choice but to accept it. Man should be the master of his thoughts but if he does not check his thinking process, he becomes a slave of his thoughts which produce substandard words and acts. Again as we think so is the world. If you think positively the world looks beautiful and you become a well wisher of the world. And if you think negatively, your own state of personality sinks low. It is rightly said that thoughts produced by our mind hold the key for our evolution. That is why the Gita says that mind can be one’s best friend as well as one’s worst enemy. In other words we are makers of ourselves.  Human mind is described as a public place open from all sides. Any thing can enter our mind and settle there which may not, in most cases, be good there by affecting our personality. Therefore we should not allow negative and useless ideas to enter our mind. This requires our complete self control over our mind and senses. Man’s character is sum total of his thoughts. The reason is that our speech and actions are based on our thought process. (more…)
