3 Steps on How to Impress Your Boss Using Astrology

Astrology is no longer relegated to the “fortune teller†status that it had back in the day. In the last two years, the world has steadily moved towards embracing this magical art. It has mainly come through Millennials and Generation X leading the way; generations searching for a little more meaning in the world.
Although Astrology is mainly known through horoscope reading in the daily newspaper, or most recently through online sources, it is gathering speed. More and more people are learning to read their “birth chartsâ€. From business to love and relationships, to planting the right seeds at the right time, astrology has become an indispensable tool for the modern generation.
We can totally use astrology to get ahead in the workplace, simply by understanding a little of how it works and the applying that to our careers; specifically, to impress our boss. It’ll take a few hours of practice, but by the end of it, you’ll be the envy of the office with your seemingly magical way of knowing exactly what makes your boss tick.

Step One: get their birth details
This is the tricky part. Not only do you have to get your boss’s date and place of birth, but you’ll need to try and wangle a time out of them… if you can. However, if you can’t, don’t despair, as astrology is still super effective without these details. Simply check out their ID documents, or ask HR for their birthday, because you’d like to “diarise itâ€.
Step Two: hop online & start learning!
There is a plethora of websites out there to help you get started on your astro-investigation. Sites like astrolabe.com are a great place to start, and apps such as CoStar will set you up to work your magic.
Start by entering your boss’s birth details into the website or app, and voila! A report will be generated listing all their planetary signs, aspects and houses. If you’re a beginner, focus on just the planetary signs for now, and pay particular attention to these:
- Their Mercury sign: This is the planet of communication, and the sign it is in can tell you all about how they think, how they speak, what kinds of ideas they have. It’ll be like you’re inside their heads, and it can be creepy how psychic you appear. You can now learn to match your own communication style with theirs (of course, you can totally do your own chart too and compare!) and blow them out of the water when you know exactly what to say and how to say it!
- Their Venus sign: This is the planet of relationships, and shows what your boss values most in life, and how they relate to others. Learning their relationship style will make you not only an invaluable employee but also a potential friend. Just be careful you don’t make them fall in love with you!
- Their Moon sign: The Moon tells us what we need to feel emotionally secure and safe. When you find ways to take care of your boss by knowing their Moon sign, they’ll feel very comfortable with you, as if you really “get†them on a level that they may not even be aware of!
**Optional: if you are an astrology expert of sorts and you happen to have a birth time, check out their Rising Sign (also called the Ascendant). This sign can tell you the way your boss likes to interact with the world, and how they appear. Though not who they really are, which is indicated by their Sun Sign.
Step Three: start impressing!
Now that you know these few, small details, head into the office and get chatting to your boss. First play with their Mercury sign style. If they have Mercury in a fire sign – Leo, Aries and Sagittarius, shoot from the hip and be direct. If they have Mercury in a water sign – Cancer, Scorpio or Pisces, be sensitive and imaginative; speak to their feelings. Approach an earthy Mercury – Virgo, Taurus or Capricorn carefully, and be sure to keep it strictly business. Be structured and practical in your approach. And finally, if in an Air sign, be rational, clever and witty. Show how much you know and don’t be scared to be chatty!
