How To Use Meditation To Improve Psychic Abilities

Everyone is psychic to a degree. It is how open we are to our abilities that allows us to use and strengthen them just like working out will help build muscles. One of the keys to building stronger psychic powers is meditation.

The following tips will work whether you are a practitioner looking to help and heal others or you are just looking to develop your psychic abilities more. Cultivating a regular meditation practice is essential for beginners as well as advanced psychic practitioners. It works to ground and center you which is important when getting ready to read for a client or for yourself.

Get Comfortable and Get Quiet

Before you do a psychic meditation, make sure you can set aside about 15 to 20 minutes where you will be alone and undisturbed.  Turn off your phone, find a quiet spot in your home and make sure to grab pen and paper before you sit down to meditate. You will also want to jot down any impressions you have following your session.

Do you have to do this every day? The short answer is yes. You want to develop consistency so that you can work on developing and enhancing your abilities. Sometimes you might need to skip a day, but always try to resume your practice as soon as possible.

Begin Meditating

Some people find it is helpful to set an alarm or timer for 15 minutes. For others, this can be jarring especially if they find themselves deep in meditation. Do what works for you. If it feels right, you are on the right path.

You can sit or lie down. Some people prefer sitting only because they find they fall asleep when lying down! Close your eyes. Breathing slowly and evenly is important.

Most practitioners find that it helps to count as you breathe in, hold the breath, and exhale. Choose to count in fours 10 times if you like, or count to 10 on the inhale, hold for six counts, and breathe out for a count of 10. Also, do this 10 times. This helps relax you.

By the time you have completed your deep breathing exercises, you can begin visualizing. You have a few options for this as well. Some psychics like to envision a white or golden light entering the crown of their heads and flowing throughout their bodies. Others might want to focus on the third eye.

With your eyes closed, picture a spot right between your eyes on your forehead. You might feel pressure as you do this. This indicates your third eye chakra is opening.

Focus on your light or your third eye. Your eyelids may begin fluttering. You are now entering a meditative state.

Trust yourself that even if you feel like you are faking it, you are doing it correctly. Be patient. Your meditation will improve and so will your psychic powers. Also, there is really no wrong way to do this if you are earnest in your attempts. The aim is to clear your mind and quiet your thoughts so that you can receive information.

Ask for Protection

Ask your guardian angel, the archangels, God, Goddess, spirit guides or spirit animals to protect you and surround you with light. Ask that only forces of good be allowed to work with you during your session.

This is important because so many intuitive, psychic people are highly sensitive. As a result, they draw all energetic types including lost spirits. Even if their intention is not to harm anyone, they can cause confusion. Ask for protection or surround yourself with white light. Let the powers that be know that you are open to receiving.

Ask for Impressions

Let the outcome go and trust yourself with what you receive.  This is also a good time to ask to meet your spirit guides if you do not know them yet.

As you emerge from your meditation, thank your guides and angels. Do whatever feels right to you as you open your eyes to indicate to spirit that you are now “closed.”

Write down any impressions you received. As you work on your meditation practice, you will learn your very own psychic vocabulary which will help you give more accurate readings. Blessings to you on your journey!
