Barack Obama & The New Dawn
abracad, · Categories: in the news, spiritual politicsToday saw the election of Barack Obama as the next President of the United States. A remarkable victory for this amazing man, not least because within his lifetime racial segregation was widespread.
But more than this, Obama's story is one of hope for all. Not born into the most privileged of backgrounds, and being of mixed race, Obama proves that life's achievements are determined less by where you come from that where you are going. If you have a vision, a dream, it is realizable, and the only obstacle is your own self-belief.
Obama's victory has been warmly received around the planet, and our wishes that he enjoy a successful term of office are sincere. Such is the power and influence of America that America's success is the success of us all. And, as witnessed by the financial crisis, America's failures are also those of us all.
When the balloons have popped and the champagne gone flat Barack Obama will surely realize the immensity of the challenges he faces and the weight of the expectations he carries. May those who supported him, and even those who didn't, now offer even greater goodwill - for it is not just this one man's future at stake, but everyone's.
Today has demonstrated a sea change in the American consciousness, a giant leap forward in terms of Spiritual evolution. Let us continue the momentum of this change, let us embrace it and apply it not only in the privacy of the ballot box, but in every aspect of our lives.
