Creating Your Own Happiness
abracad, · Categories: externally authored, self helpCreating your own happiness is letting go of what is holding it back, for we are all meant to be happy in our lives, living from a place of enjoyment, contentment, and love.
Why then does it feel like sometimes your life is missing this element; why are you without it? It can feel this way and really seem like this is so. But being happy is realizing you can be and that it is a choice. Happiness is not because of something on the outside, it comes from within. No matter the circumstances in your life, or who you are with, or where you are from, happiness is a part of you, internally and completely. Happiness is not given to us or provided by someone else. We are the makers and the acceptors of our own happiness.
Happiness can be felt within at any moment.
We hold ourselves back from experiencing it because we have decided not to accept the moment we are in. If we truly accepted the moment, whatever it is or will be, then we can be happy in it. If we are not content with what is happening in our lives, we then choose not to be happy as well. If we are hoping for something to change in the future, something that will make us happy, then we are holding ourselves back from happiness in the present. We look for ways for happiness to come to us but never look within. Happiness is always available; it is a part of you. When you stop seeing happiness as a result of something else, especially from an external source, then you can accept the happiness you already have.
By accepting the moment as is, by letting go of what you think you need to be happy, you can feel it now.
The idea that something else will bring you happiness is what keeps it away. Happiness comes from within at any moment you choose.   Stop believing happiness is something you have to wait for or that it relies on some other factor. For if you really keep on believing this, happiness will never fully occur in your life. You can feel happiness today; you can feel love, contentment and peace within. It is all connected to you; by giving up on waiting and instead accepting that this can be the moment, that you can and will be happy from within, you will.
