Gog and Magog 2012?

David Wilcox’s documentary video The 2012 Enigma summarizes the “2012 movement” comprehensively. Wilcox demonstrates how several diverse sources predict that life on Earth will undergo a cataclysmic change of unprecedented magnitude at the winter solstice of the year 2012 (on 21 December). In The 2012 Enigma, Wilcox’s survey encompasses the Mayan calendar, Montauk Project and Project Looking Glass experimental subjects, crop circles, and more. What Wilcox does not include is the culminating fulfillment of the Gog and Magog prophecy of Revelation 20 and Ezekiel 38-39. It is hoped that this chapter’s exploration of Gog and Magog will supplement Wilcox’s excellent achievement.

Do you know what will happen in 2012?

Regarding the Mayan calendar, past predictions of the ancient Mayans have proved true, so the fact that the last day of the Mayan calendar corresponds to the Gregorian calendar date of 21 December 2012 ought not to be taken lightly. Of the plethora of research on the topic, the following comments may provide a useful introduction to the issue:

“The Long Count Calendar of the Ancient Mayans ends on December 21, 2012. There isn’t much information regarding what the Mayans thought would occur in 2012, but the consensus of opinion is that there will be great change. To some people this means a positive, spiritual change. Others, like myself, consider that a catastrophic event may have been predicted.” (http://www.survive2012.com)

“The date December 21st, 2012 A.D., represents an extremely close conjunction of the Winter Solstice Sun with the crossing point of the Galactic Equator (Equator of the Milky Way) and the Ecliptic (path of the Sun), what the ancient Mayans recognized as the Sacred Tree.” (http://www.greatdreams.com/2012.htm)

Some curious, corroborating phenomena may be found in the crop circles created in 1996 and 1999, which can be viewed, with poignant commentary, in The 2012 Enigma, which also presents persuasive information about the Montauk Project and Project Looking Glass.

Wilcock and others of higher consciousness report that they have travelled in another dimension, call it the astral field, where they have experienced such phenomena as UFOs and communication with extraterrestrial beings—one such species being an evolved Homo sapiens which exists in the future, much like the extraterrestrials depicted in the film The Last Mimzy.

The reactions of people who have not travelled “interdimensionally” may range from utter incredulity to skepticism, or even to hoping that such an astral dimension exists and that they will be able to explore it. It is to this dimension where the psychically evolved or spiritually transformed beings will ascend on 21 December 2012, according to proponents of this view—and c’est dommage for the unenlightened on that day—they will remain behind in the ensuing and lowly chaos being wreaked on the planet.

But doesn’t it all boil down to one’s ability to visualize, to utilize the third eye or inner eye, the pineal gland? In The 2012 Enigma, Wilcock says that the pineal gland also enables people to travel interdimensionally, including to the past and future, and it provides the visual sense in our dreams—for after all, “We are such stuff as dreams are made on,” according to the character Prospero in Shakespeare’s fantastical play The Tempest.

Thus the pineal gland may also have enabled Ezekiel, John and other ancient prophets to receive their visions, including the Gog and Magog prophecy, as recorded in the books of Ezekiel and Revelation. One such vision from which an Academy Award-winning film took its title is the chariot of fire in Ezekiel 1:13-21.

Whether the culminating fulfillment of the Gog and Magog prophecy will occur on 21 December 2012 or at any point in time near that date, the event may include elements similar to those predicted by

Wilcox and others. First, the Gog and Magog prophecy predicts an ascension or transformation of human beings. Also there will be an annihilation of the worldwide system and ideology that violently opposes New Testament spirituality, which may accord with the cataclysmic end of history-as-we-know-it predicted to occur on 21 December 2012. A look at the text of the Gog and Magog prophecy itself may shed some light on the topic.

Revelation 20

20:1-2 “And I [John] saw an angel coming down from out of the heaven having the key of the abyss, and a great chain in his hand. And he seized the dragon, the ancient serpent, who is devil, and the adversary, the one misleading the entire habitable world.”

As shown in Revelation 12 and following (see Chapter 2), these four synonyms refer to the ideology of human rebelliousness against God manifested in apostate Judah and in the idolatrous energy fuelling Rome in the first century A.D. The list of synonyms in 20:1-2 appears first in Revelation 12:10, where the additional synonym “accuser of our brethren” is included, which limits the ideology inhering in “the adversary” to the apostate kingdom of Judah, as the Gospels show, that the Judahite religious leaders had challenged Jesus at every corner, although the blasphemous Romans had persecuted the New Covenant saints as well, whether influenced directly or indirectly by the Judahites. For brevity’s sake, but sacrificing no accuracy, the word “adversary” will be used hereinafter to refer to this ideology or energy. For it must be noted that most if not all Bibles in English include the mistranslation of the Greek word satanaj (Rev 20:2) “Satan.” But satanaj is not a proper noun or a name, and the most accurate English concept matching the Greek one is “adversary.” In the context of the book of Revelation, this is the adversary to the New Covenant spirituality (described further above).

20:3 “And he cast him into the abyss, and locked, and set a seal upon him, that he should not mislead the nations any more until the thousand years be fulfilled.”

Within the context of this supernatural activity, “abyss” refers to a dimension of judgment, also with reference to Judaea. “Abyss” occurs as a double entendre throughout Revelation, inasmuch as God’s judgment would be meted out upon the inhabitants of Judaea, and Judaea would be the physical location of this judgment. The textual origin of this usage is Psalm 35-36: “O Lord [. . .] thy judgments [are] a vast abyss.” Thus the adversary was locked in the abyss, where it would be prevented from “misleading the nations until the thousand years be fulfilled,” and “the thousand years” began at that point in time— i.e., ca. August A.D. 70.

20:3 (cont.) “[. . .] and after these [thousand years], it is necessary to loose him a little time.” The adversary would be loosed after “the thousand years,” which is a figurative term for a long, indefinite period of time. The term “thousand hills” in Psalm 50:10, for example, illuminates the use of the term “thousand years” in Revelation 20:

“For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills. I know all the fowls of the mountains: and the wild beasts of the field are mine. If I were hungry, I would not tell thee: for the world is mine, and the fulness thereof.” (Psa 50:10-12)

The inspiration of the Psalm does not intend that “a thousand hills” means a literal, enumerated 1,000 hills, but rather an indefinite, great number of hills (nothwithstanding that God, being omniscient, would know the precise number of such hills). Similar occurrences are “thousand vines” (Isa 7:23), “thousand silverlings” (Isa 7:23), “thousand years” (Psa 90:4), “thousand years” (Eccl 6:6). An argument might be made for a literal usage of “thousand years” in 2 Peter 3:8: “But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.” But the passage merely compares human perception of time on earth to the Lord’s perception of time in Heaven, if there is such a thing. Moreover, any ambiguity in 2 Peter 3:8 is readily resolved by the several clear figurative precedents.

20:4-5 During this same period of a “thousand years” the righteous souls in Heaven reign with Christ, and the unrighteous dead remain dead.

20:3; 7-8 “And after these [“thousand years”] it is necessary to loose him [for] a little time. [. . .] And whenever the thousand years should be fulfilled, the adversary shall be loosed from out of his prison, and shall come forth to mislead the nations, the ones in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together for the war, [of] which the number [is] as the sand of the sea.”

The long, indefinite period of the “thousand years” is contrasted to the “little time” for which the adversary will be loosed. Note here that another “adversary” synonym—“Gog”—has been added to the according list (cf. Ezk 38-39).

The adversary to the New Covenant spirituality which was bound in A.D. 70 was the anti-New Covenant energy driving the apostate Judahites—and thus the adversary which would be loosed after “the thousand years are expired” would have to be the same—and it would have to be loosed where it had been bound—in the land area which had in A.D. 70 been Judaea—that land area in 1948 and yet today is that occupied by the United Nations-created Israeli political state.

As the New Covenant spirituality expanded beyond Judaea to the entire habitable Earth, the anti- New Covenant ideology to be loosed when “the thousand years are expired” would, upon its being loosed, not be limited to the pre-A.D. 70 ethnography of apostate Judaism, and Judaea and the Mediterranean diaspora, but rather it would encompass the Earth and comprise all anti-New Covenant ideologies, religions, including materialism, athesism, environmentalism—even though technically modern Judaism— i.e., Talmudism-Zionism—since 1948 has itself been attempting to colonize virtually the entire habitable Earth, and increasing in intensity and magnitude its adversarial role to New Covenant spirituality:

“American Jews must have the courage to declare openly that they have a double loyalty—to the country in which they live, and to the state of Israel. The Jew must not let himself be talked into merely being a good patriot of a country in which he lives.” (Menuhin, Moshe. The Decadence of Judaism in Our Time. New York: Exposition Press. 1965; p. 159.) “In the Zionist movement’s new campaign to conquer the communities of Free Diaspora, the government of Israel will give every moral and political support [. . .] to the limits of its capacity.” (Op. cit., p. 397)

A similar example may be seen in the spiritual war which Hinduism has been waging against New Covenant spirituality, as evidenced by this time line:

All of the above, as well as the work of all the other anti-New Covenant forces, might be considered evidence of the fulfillment of Revelation 20:7-8:

“And whenever the thousand years should be fulfilled, the adversary shall be loosed from out of his prison, and shall come forth to mislead the nations, the ones in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together for the war, [of] which the number [is] as the sand of the sea.”

20:9 “And they ascended upon the width of the earth, and encircled the camp of the saints, and the city being loved.”

During this relatively short period of time, the adversary would become so violent as to threaten the very existence of New Covenant spirituality. The adherents to the adversarial, anti-New Covenant ideology— Magog—reach the culminating point of their oppression of the saints. The “camp of the saints,” “the city being loved,” encompasses the entire earth, as the Gospel, the New Covenant spirituality, has itself reached the entire habitable world. It is reasonable to infer that the intent of Gog-energized Magog is to annihilate all evidence of the New Testament and expressions of its spirituality—including the New Covenant saints themselves. The diametric opposite happens, however:

20:9-10 “And fire came down from the heaven from God, and it devoured them. And the devil, the one misleading them, was cast into the lake of fire and sulphur, where the beast and the false prophet are.”

Before Gog and Magog can strike their extinguishing blow against the New Covenant saints, the supernatural power intervenes into the natural realm, where fire does what it literally does, to the adherents to the adversarial ideology—it consumes them. The adversary—the anti-New Covenant ideological energy itself—is annihilated—it will never exist again in the universe. Gog and Magog—2012 Nexus?

Revelation 20:9-10 would accord with the 2012 prediction’s Zero Point, in terms of a cataclysm in the chronological progression of events on Earth. According to Wilcox, the predicted Zero Point coincides with the end of the Mayan calendar and the visions of experimental subjects in the Montauk and Looking Glass projects.

20:12-14; 21:4 “And I saw the dead. [. . .] And the dead were judged. [. . .] And the sea gave up her dead; and death and the grave gave up their dead. And they were judged each according to their works. And death and the grave were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death. [21:4 . . . A]nd death shall not be any more.” (Cf. Rev 21:8; 22:15.)

Upon the culminating fulfillment of the Gog and Magog prophecy, God will judge all the dead from Adam and Eve to that point in time— i.e., all who died unregenerate—and whoever is not found in the scroll of life, will be cast into the lake of fire. 1 Corinthians 15:26 says: “The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.” It is reasonable to infer that at some future point, biological terminus of humans will no longer occur. In order for physical death to cease, there must be no longer anything that can die. Adam and Eve’s descendants—the Adamic species, Homo sapiens, humans—will no longer exist. The humans who are yet alive at this point will have been New Covenant saints and will be transformed into immortal beings. 1 Corinthians 15:22 says: “For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive”—this aliveness is the life of which Jesus spoke: “to enter into life”—it is spiritual, eternal existence— which Jesus contrasted to “being cast into eternal fire” (Mt 18:8; cf. Mt 19:7; Mk 9:43). The precedents to this human transformation into immortality are Jesus’ resurrection and the first resurrection of the saints, as discussed further above. (Cf. 1 Cor 15:20-54; 2 Cor 5:8; Rev 20:4-6; Rev 21:1-7.) Might this also be understood in terms of the 2012 prediction that some Homo sapiens will transform into a higher life form?

In terms of the 2012 prediction of the ascension of humans who are sufficiently transformed psychically, these beings are supposed to be able to move freely between the physical and metaphysical realms. They will also be able to change physical position, for example, from Earth to Pluto, at the speed of thought. The text of the Bible does not specify these kinds of movement, but such transformation of energy might reasonably inhere in an immortal being.

20:12 “And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.”

20:13 “And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.”

20:15 “And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”

Hebrews 9:27: “It is appointed unto men [i.e., human beings] once to die, but after this the judgment.”

These five verses (above) may indicate what happens, upon the fulfillment of the Gog and Magog prophecy, to “them” in Revelation 20:9(b). By that point in time, there will be only two sides to the spiritual divide. It will be as Jesus said: “He that is not with me is against me” (Matthew 12:30).

People predicting the 21 December 2012 Zero Point, as well as other psychics and conscientious souls, may see a convergence of the 2012 Zero Point with the fulfillment of the Gog and Magog prophecy, a conjunction of spirit and matter, of individuation of energy, of a sole entity emerging, absolutely free of karma, to commune with the Creator. But where? Revelation 22:1-2: “And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life.”

The tree of life also appears in Genesis, which says that God removed Adam and Eve from the garden of Eden and the tree of life, after the couple had disobeyed God’s commandment not to eat the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil:

“Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever [. . .] he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubim, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.” (Genesis 3:22-24)

What is the “flaming sword which turned every way?” What is “the way of the tree of life?” Some psychics refer to DNA, or the genetic code, as the Tree of Life. The Mayans used the term Sacred Tree to describe the conjunction of the winter solstice with the crossing point of the Sun’s path with the Milky Way’s equator on 21 December 2012.

Will there be a convergence of the three Trees, at 11:11 a.m. GMT, on 21 December 2012? If so, to what end?

In The 2012 Enigma, Wilcock says that in negotiating a treaty recently with human beings, certain extraterrestrials had a line item in the treaty which would enable the ETs to share a particular technology developed by humans which is able to reproduce the original seed of all life on Earth. The ETs were intending to use this technology to heal their own DNA because they believe that they are of human lineage, i.e., evolved from Homo sapiens. The humans struck this line item from the treaty, however, because a separate extradimensional being had found out about it and warned the humans that they “cannot tamper with the Tree of Life — you can look at it, you can admire it, but you can’t mess with it,” Wilcock reports. “The Tree of Life is the actual source code of our DNA.”

Did God, by removing Adam and Eve from the garden of Eden, and protecting the tree of life with Cherubim and a flaming sword, say the same thing? On 21 December 2012, will the Creator improve the DNA of some Homo sapiens, enabling them to evolve or transform into ascended or immortal beings? Will the Gog and Magog prophecy culminate on 21 December 2012?
