Spirituality is derived from the world spirit which means soul or Atma residing equally in all. Spirituality is the realization that man is not just the body but man is essentially spirit or Atma which is the highest component of man’s personality. The Atma is a ray or fragment of God which makes a man divine at core. Spirituality aims at recognizing this divine principle which is responsible for the inner growth of man. (more…)

Universal Dreams and What They Might Mean

Long considered by many to be a window on the soul, the dream world weaves an infinitely varied tapestry from the mundane to the bizarre, the unspeakably beautiful to the downright terrifying. And yet within the vast diversity of the dream space, there are a number of themes which seem to occur repeatedly across individuals and cultures.

In The Universal Dreams Patricia Garfield, Ph.D., former President of the Association for the Study of Dreams identifies 12 universal dream themes including "chase or attack", "poor test performance", and "being lost or trapped". Might the frequency of these universal themes point to a common origin, even purpose, shared by all humanity?

What does success mean to different people?

No one meaning of success is same for two different people. For a sportsman success means winning a medal. For a worldly man success means doing well in his job or business which secures comforts and luxuries for him. For a writer success means his writings are appreciated by one and all, for a student success means securing a high grade in exams and for a housewife success means looking after the needs of all members of family but commanding their respects. The sad passing of Steve Jobs has dominated the news of the past week. Jobs, the founder of Apple, has been phenomenally successful and a true game-changer in the field of technology, but one might question why someone engaged in such a materialistic industry is being mentioned on a Spiritual Web site.

What is Mediumship?

In these uncertain times folk often seek guidance from mediums, psychics, and clairvoyants; but what exactly is the difference, what can one expect from a medium, and is mediumship a talent that can be developed for ourselves?

Probabilities and Predictions

During meditation, I’ve been given predictions of events to come by both Gaia, soul of the earth, and my own Guardian Angel, whom I named Theo, as he said our vocal chords are not constructed to pronounce angelic names. But I noticed that not only the predictions given to me, but to trance channels and psychics seemed to be hit and miss. In my case, some events would be within a day or two of the event—a major earthquake or say within a half-mile of the place I was told Katrina would make landfall. In other instances I would be way off, such as when I was told there would be a major earthquake in Japan around the first of September 2010 and it did not take place until March 2011. Then there were the times I would be told an event would take place, such as massive earthquakes in California the last week of December 2010, and nothing happened. (more…)

Christ, The 'Fish', The Vesica Pisces, and Astrology

When he had finished speaking he said to Simon,
“Put out into deep water and let down your nets for a catch.”
Simon answered, “Master, we have worked all night long
but have caught nothing. Yet if you say so,
I will let down the nets.”
When they had done this they had caught so many fish
that their nets were beginning to break. (Luke.5.4-6)

They signaled the other boat to come and help them, and soon both boats were filled with so many fish that they began to sink. Simon (he that obeys), who was also called Peter (a rock or stone), “fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, ‘Go away from me, Lord, for I am a sinful man.’ For he and all who were with him were amazed at the catch of fish that they had taken; and so also were James and John, sons of Zebedee [abundance], who were partners with Simon.” They were afraid the boats would sink under the weight of all the fish, but Jesus said: “Do not be afraid; from now on, you will be catching people.” (more…)

The Haunt of "Cloverfield Plantation"

If a traveler wishes to spend the night in a beautiful, haunted, historical home, the splendid house built by the earlier owner of Cloverfield Plantation is a great place to do so. The original Spanish colonial style structure is homestead of one of the oldest tobacco plantations east of the Kentucky River. The twelve room ground level houses as well as the surrounding grounds, retain all the qualities of the most photographic southern country ideal.

To reach the old plantation, one must make a sharp turn off south KY 89 right onto a hidden entrance. (more…)
