Waiting Deep Within

An acorn fell from an oak tree and lay frightened on the meadow floor.  As he lay in this new environment, he remembered his past life, high on the branches. Many of his friends were still there and he longed for the hours of companionship, grand view of things and boasting about their future.

As time wore on, other acorns were lost to squirrels, some failed to mature and many fell to the earth.  These were hidden to each other by the fallen leaves and meadow debris.

Lying on the ground for weeks, our acorn thought all was lost. (more…)

Just Imagine

You’ve probably heard, “The only time we have is now, this our present moment.” So this means that we can only live in the present, act in the present and experience life in the present moment. You may be asking, “If this is the case then why do I have so many problems in my life?”

Everything that happens in our life is created by a choice we made – consciously or unconsciously – via the thoughts and beliefs that we are holding in the present moment. The past is really only a memory of the past. If we dwell in the past we continue to bring forward the same past experiences whether good or bad by putting energy into them in the present moment. Our future, the things we desire, our plans or even things we are dreading are still all created in our present, right now, state of mind. This means that we can only experience joy in this now moment of time. (more…)

This article is a response to a member of the arts and labor group of Occupy Wall Street, Nicole Demby’s excellent article titled, “The Fight Against Capitalism” printed in AdBusters, February 15, 2012.

Throughout recorded history, and even before that, people lived in communities/tribes and had as many things in common as they could, because tribal living simply made life easier for everyone involved. It was a protection against more hostile enemy tribes as well as the 1% of their day (and there has always been a 1%, since the establishment of using some sort of capital as a means of acquiring goods and services). The Riddle: Who We Are?

According to tradition, humanity originated ‘far beyond the stars’ and is on a journey back to its Source.  While in the earth phase, there are numerous opportunities to embrace ‘our real’ or ‘lasting nature’ and begin the spiritual journey back home.  In this physical world, because we are in a sense estranged from our real or lasting nature, which is spiritual, there is an unease and inner hunger that pushes us forward to search and make the connection back home. While in this world, many become fooled and try to fill the inner emptiness with all manner of experiences and things; this further compounds the problem of remembering who we are.

Like ET in the movie, we need to contact home, through our inner spiritual awareness, so the factors might align and we can start the return journey. (more…)
