Rising Above Fear

By: Niánn Emerson Chase

Though we should be aware of the multitude of problems facing our planet, I can hardly tolerate the slanted fear-based rhetoric in much of the mainstream media that emphasizes the war on terror and the sensationalized murders, accidents, and other bad new items. Also appalling are the number of popular horror and action films that focus on the terrible things in the world and feed people’s lower, fear- and hate-based natures. Oh yeah, there are a few minutes spent on good news and there are some films that have social and artistic value, but they are in the minority. (more…)

Free Psychic Readings from New and Developing Psychics - fledglingPSYCHIC

Despite unprecedented progress in science and technology the late 20th and early 21st century has seen ever-increasing interest in alternative beliefs - the so-called new age movement. This may be seen as a reaction against both the "triumph" of materialism and orthodox, institutionalised religion.

A characteristic of the new age movement is the ever-increasing demand for the services of professional psychics, clairvoyants, mediums, astrologers, tarot readers, palmists, fortune tellers etc.

This short article discusses professional psychics and advises how to get the best from psychic readings. (more…)

By Diane Donovan, Senior Reviewer, ‘California Bookwatch’

While most may readily recognize the name of Johnny Appleseed, which is widely connected with the propagation and popularity of apples, this same audience is just as unlikely to realize that Appleseed was actually a traveling minister with deep spiritual roots - and that he used apple seeding as one device towards the greater purpose of seeding men's souls. Human life is a gift of God and we should live in a purposeful manner to evolve ourselves. We must live righteously by cultivating divine virtues within us and use them in our day to day conduct. At the same time we should avoid certain traits which can cause hindrance to our living righteously. The title of this write up says that we should avoid six Cs. Six Cs which we should avoid in our daily life are corruption criticism, comparison, complaining, copying others and competing with others. I have discussed these traits in this write up to enable readers to understand as to why we should avoid them. (more…)

The Great Teacher

abracad, · Categories: externally authored, spirituality

By Dr. Stewart Bitkoff

Q:  In this age, many are awaiting the return of the Great Teacher. Please speak to this prophecy.

It is a prophecy that the Great Teacher will return and again turn hearts upward in remembrance. As circumstance dictates, the Great Teacher will make public the Teaching. Always it is the same spiritual teaching that is updated into a modern form. At present the work and teaching occurs on a spiritual level.

The teaching is that the great religions are all one and spring from the same source. Mankind has forgotten to sip of this ancient river and experience the inner reality of God’s Love and Mercy through the Light.

We are all brothers and sisters and are most distant from our lasting spiritual nature when we forget to experience this reality. This is the eternal teaching and how to accomplish this is the inner mystery teaching of the great religions. (more…)

Bhagavad Gita for Global Peace and Harmony

abracad, · Categories: externally authored, spirituality

By LT Col R K Langar

Introduction

Bhagavad Gita is rightly called the scripture of mankind since whatever it teaches has universal appeal. Bhagavad Gita guides, encourages, protects, elevates, cautions but does not order you to do this and that. The person who studies Bhagavad Gita is drawn to act righteously but not driven to do so. At the end of the teachings of Bhagavad Gita, Lord Krishna tells Arjuna to reflect on what has been told to him and act as he likes.  There is a choice to act and yet there is no compulsion to act on what has been taught. Bhagavad Gita gives a free will to man to act on its teachings as per his own understanding. That is why Bhagavad Gita is called man’s best friend. Friends never order you to do something. They only suggest or give their opinions when asked. All cultures of the world are based on some philosophy of life. Indian culture is based on spiritual philosophy. As there is no better book on spiritually than Bhagavad Gita, Indian culture is deeply influenced by Bhagavad Gita. Bhagavad Gita underscores that there is unity amongst all living beings as God resides in all. The essence of man’s nature or our core nature or SUBHAVA is divine which is same in all. Difference between one man and the other is only due to our acquired nature or Samskaras which are different in each person. As our core nature is same in all, India stands for unity in diversity which paves the way for global peace and harmony. (more…)

Meeting at Journey’s End

abracad, · Categories: externally authored, purpose, spirituality

By Dr. Stewart Bitkoff

Now I do understand it. I will tell you what it is: Does this path have a heart?  All paths are the same: they lead nowhere. They are paths going through the bush, or into the bush. In my own life I could say I have traveled long, long paths, but I am not anywhere.  My benefactor’s question has meaning now.  Does this path have a heart?  If it does, this path is good; if it doesn’t, it is of no use. Both paths lead nowhere; but one has a heart, the other doesn’t. One makes for a joyful journey; as long as you follow it, you are one with it. The other will make you curse your life. One makes you strong; the other weakens your life.  -Don Carlos* (more…)

Some Observations on Enlightenment

By Dr. Stewart Bitkoff

“Enlightenment must come little by little-otherwise it would overwhelm.”
-Idries Shah

In spiritual literature, have you ever wondered why there are so few straight forward discussions concerning outcomes of enlightenment; or said another way, once you have traveled a spiritual path, and become more enlightened, for you personally, what will this spiritual ability look like. Here are a few reasons for this limited discussion and some personal observations. (more…)

Multi-level Being

abracad, · Categories: externally authored, poetry, spirituality

By Dr. Stewart Bitkoff

Each traveler is a one of a kind, original, expression of the Source.
There never has been
Nor will there ever be someone exactly like you.
You are a multi-level being
Traveling through the worlds
Expressing and creating who you are.

O traveler, learn about yourself.
In this activity there is greatness.
