Gambling and psi

Why Doesn't Everyone Win

If we all have psychic ability and we are all trying to win the lottery, how come we don't all win every week? Well, one reason is that if we all won, the prize wouldn't be worth winning anyway as it would be shared by so many. Another explanation is that such massive instant wealth isn't part of everyone's (self-chosen) life plan. We might think that while upstairs we'd all choose a life of riches and comfort, but up there we recognize that coming here isn't such a big deal and that actually greater lessons can be learned from hardship than from contentment. Finally, in all desiring earthly wealth we are effectively all pulling against each other and to a large extent canceling out each other's efforts.

The Morality of Gambling

It has long been thought that psychic ability cannot be used for personal gain, eg many mediums report being unable to receive messages for themselves. It is certainly not the intention of Spirit that we use our psychic gifts to abdicate the responsibilities we came here to fulfill by wallowing in the luxury of unearned wealth. However, provided we consciously set the intention to use any psychically assisted gains to further, rather than retard, our Spiritual progress, and any such gains are not excessive for this purpose, there is no reason why we should not demonstrate our psi through gambling success.

If it ain't on your life path, it ain't gonna happen. But if it's there as a potentiality, then maybe it might. And if you help it along then that chance can only increase.

A Warning

Lots of religious faiths state that gambling is sinful. I stop short of such damning condemnation but acknowledge these teachings offer a valuable warning that should be heeded.

There are two dangers in gambling. The first is the risk of losing more than you can afford. Always set limits on your gambling which lie well within your comfort zone. If a gamble places at risk something that if lost would significantly damage your life quality, then don't take that gamble.

Secondly, don't try to use gambling as a means of avoiding your Spiritual responsibilities. If you want something, and it's within your potential, then you have to try to bring it about - and gambling is but one way of doing that. But look upon success as a means of progressing further and faster, not an excuse for abdicating responsibility.
