How to Read Palms
The Hand of Destiny
by T.Stokes, consultant palmist
Is not the destiny of an acorn to be an oak tree ? And the fate
of a caterpillar to become the butterfly ?
Just as in the bible we read that; “length of days are in her right hand, and in her left are riches and honours” so the unborn baby residing in the womb also has from the tenth week of pregnancy, the palmer markings depicting the main events of the life to come.
The fate line is a major player in the provision of signs of change that show in the hand. It gives us the correct road signs on the highways of life.
By skilful analysis we can use these road signs of change as “signposts on life’s route”, which can help us on our journey .
For instance; if destiny demanded a change in our health, we would need to look for corroboration on our health line, and if changes were indicated in our emotional arena, we would look to the heart line, and so on, and we must always look for confirmation and re enforcement, and never by a single sign alone.
One of the biggest stumbling blocks when we meet these fated changes or karmic tasks, is the question, was it free will or pre-destination, and even skilled practitioners can fall by the wayside on this thorny issue.
Only by the use of the medical term, to diagnose only by “sign and symptom”, can we piece the story together.
The Bible has the wonderful passage in Ecclesiastes 1-5, where it states; there is a time in our lives to build up, and to knock down, to be born to marry and to die.
In other words every thing happens for a reason, and also when it happens.
Our Muslim brothers say belief in destiny is called Qada wa qada. Throughout the world many beliefs surround the hand of cards that fate has dealt us at birth. The philosopher Maeterlink once said; “The man for whom the hour of misfortune has sounded, is caught up by an invisible whirlwind, and for years back have these powers been combining the innumerable incidents that must bring him to the necessary moment, to the exact spot where tears lie in wait for him.”
Although most readers today emphasise free will, and to take charge of ones fate, there is often a feeling in our lives that something was meant to be.
The fate or destiny line runs up our hand roughly from the wrist area, generally near to the middle or Saturn finger.
The handprints depicted, show the hand of a well-known show biz personality, who is often in the news, with signs that she has according to the rules of palmistry, come into incarnation to please and entertain people.
The long strong and straight little finger, coupled with the forked headline, [lower line of the two that crosses the hand]
show a singer/ songwriter, with both charm and poise.
Her heart line [upper crossing line] being fuzzy and low set and ending under the second finger, which is ringed on both hands, tells a story of insecurity, and uncertainty, with an ability to be very physical yet untrusting.
The fact that her fate line stops at the heart line indicates an emotional decision to change the direction of her destiny or career at age 50.
This would mean, as her fate line is stopped here, perhaps retirement from work, to settle down,
So fate tells us that in spite of her great charm and beauty, she has been deprived of real love, enabling her to concentrate on her career unhindered. Shakespeare said “What, is the lark more precious than the wren, because his feathers are more beautiful?”
Often women are judged in terms of attractiveness solely by physical beauty alone, thus selling them short.
The health line which runs diagonally from under the little finger to the base of the life line, must always be seen in conjunction with the fingernails, as a browny discolouration is shown at the nail sides only, this can relate to Tamoxifen poisoning, longish ridged nails add confirmation, as does the sluggish life line.
This has all occurred over the past few years and the future prognosis is good health wise, see protective square at lifelines end.
Emotionally, she still has to work hard, but is lucky to have bags of self-confidence, so always bounces back.
Finally, she has had several veruccas of late on her handbacks, so here she needs to rub them with fresh banana skin, over a week or so.
Health, and its close relationship to our emotional profile, is often seen in terms of karmic involvement.
Occultists recognise that if someone is physically unwell, there must be an emotional correspondence, and similarly a feeling of a spiritual blockage will often accompany an emotional dullness.
At my lectures I refer to this as the “spillover effect”.
An example is the man who is suffering depression, this will be accompanied by “a gait disturbance” which means his walk will be altered,
His emotions dulled, and spiritually he will become stagnant.
This is why the present study of reductionism in medicine has produced such disasters as seen recently in the British press.
And the British Medical Journal says an acceptable rate in accurate diagnoses is 50 % in medical exams, and explains how a spiritual healer can heal physical conditions through the spiritual or emotional bodies.
Our well-known singer here has found great meaning in her life since discovering her spiritual landscape, and her gift of healing.
One could tell a story from every year on her lifeline, each year being depicted by the width of a matchstick.
This type of fate line with the regular dots in its course, is called by palmists, “an enfiladed marking” as each dot shows an event in the life.
There is always controversy among students over how much is free will and how much is destiny? Over many years of doing charitable functions fund raising for church buildings and Christian charities, vicars and priests would always insist on not mentioning the future, health, the past, romance, family all O, K, but no future, and today many psychics and astrologers dismiss destiny or fate, my own view is that we decide before birth, on certain milestones in our life to be, these maybe to help others, or to pay back for past indiscretions, the old saying,” old sins cast long shadows”, is perhaps appropriate.
Dietary-wise, she would benefit from an oil of evening primrose and a vit.C with selenium, calcium and zinc..
And gentle yoga is just the job for unwinding after a busy stressful day.
For the sake of space, I have kept this short but remember, all readings must be; positive, constructive and uplifting, and in the words of the great healer Harry Edwards, diplomatic and as honest as possible. A professional code of ethics for psychics is long overdue.
Happy palmistry.
